Established in late 2016 by a volunteer group of Potrero Hill neighbors, the Carolina Green Space is working to improve the safety and beauty of the large median on Carolina Street, between 22nd and 23rd Streets, one of the largest vegetated islands in San Francisco.
The group has come together to make the “island,” which was formerly a beautiful space maintained by the City, once again into an inviting green space and gathering spot for the neighborhood, community, and for citizens and visitors to San Francisco as a whole.
Beginning in July 2020, the group will be using a Community Challenge Grant to enhance the 22nd Street end of the median, known as the “Skyline Terrace.” In future years, they hope to continue implementing further improvements elsewhere in the space.
The group schedules volunteer community work days to clean up, and maintain the space. To stay informed of upcoming events, please visit their website and consider joining their email list for future updates.
