Volunteer Hours at Garden for the Environment
January 18 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday and Saturday, repeating until December 31, 2020
Garden for the Environment (GFE) is open to volunteers each Wednesday and Saturday. No prior gardening experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. Volunteers can come and go at any time, and GFE has gloves and any tools you might need. There is typically a break for lunch around noon – you are welcome to bring something to eat if you want to join.
Volunteers will work alongside staff and other volunteers on a variety of garden tasks like composting, planting seeds, pruning, weeding, and tending to vegetable beds. This work helps to care for the garden, but it’s also an opportunity for volunteers to learn new skills and develop their individual gardening interests with the guidance of expert staff.
About The SFPA
The San Francisco Parks Alliance is a nonprofit organization that has been working with the community for nearly 50 years to help encourage our neighbors to get out and make the most of their public spaces. We focus on collaborating with our fellow San Franciscans and various partners around the Bay Area to champion beautification projects, public space initiatives, and engagement through a variety of free weekly and monthly events.
