About

Founded to support the City’s renovation efforts of the Golden Gate Dog Training Area, Friends of Golden Gate Dog Park is an assembly of neighbors from the Richmond and Sunset districts, as well as lovers of San Francisco’s largest fenced dog park. They are supported by Supervisor Fewer, the San Francisco Parks Alliance, and volunteers and donors from the neighborhood and beyond.

The group’s goal is to provide insight as the City leads renovation efforts in the park, as well as to advocate for fenced spaces for dogs and their owners to recreate while the project is underway. Outside of the construction happening in the park, the Friends of Golden Gate Dog Park also advocate for community amongst local dog owners and friends at their weekly “Yappy Hour,” which take place on Wednesday evenings, April through October.
