About

A group of neighbors and interested citizens banded together in 2005 to form a stewardship group for Noe Valley’s recreation center, hoping to foster community involvement and enable better communication between neighbors and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department. The group has since evolved into Friends of Upper Noe Recreation Center (FUNRC), a small stewardship committee with a number of volunteers organized around specific areas of interest.

FUNRC facilitates community outreach and fundraising events, as well as ensures that there is a dependable link between the community and the staff of the Recreation and Parks Department. FUNRC is also a registered 501(c)3 non-profit group through the San Francisco Parks Alliance; and all donations to Friends of Upper Noe Recreation Center are both a tax deduction and a great way to keep your park a great place to be!
