One of San Francisco’s three original parks, Washington Square was set aside as a public square in 1847 and has been the centerpiece of North Beach ever since!

The Friends of Washington Square is a group of neighbors and friends who are dedicated to addressing the ongoing needs of Washington Square, while acting as guardians of the park to help preserve and beautify this San Francisco treasure.
