Lombard Street
In accordance with mandates from the San Francisco Department of Public Health, SF Parks Alliance will be suspending operations at Lombard Street. We look forward to resuming our regularly scheduled activities after that date, and hope to see you then!
Project Plan
Located between Hyde and Leavenworth, Lombard Street – known as the Crooked Street – is one of San Francisco’s most popular tourist destinations. With an estimated 2.1 million visitors per year and as many as 1,400 pedestrians per hour, congestion has made visiting the Crooked Street a challenging experience for both tourists and local residents.
SF Parks Alliance has been working closely with the community to make Lombard a pleasant place for both neighbors and tourists through encouraging visitors to gather safely while still celebrating one of our City’s most recognizable attractions.
At Lombard Street, our friendly practitioners serve as friendly hosts who are able to help visitors move safely through the space, find answers to their questions, and provide directions to nearby attractions in North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, and beyond.
The City of San Francisco, through the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and in partnership with the San Francisco Parks Alliance, is piloting a new program that helps communities improve their public spaces. The program will supplement the City’s critical cleaning and safety services with regular activation, beautification projects, and community engagement.
