About

San Francisco’s Fire Department, Arts Commission and the Friends of the Marina Earthquake Monument have joined together to create a memorial in remembrance of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake.

The purpose of this memorial is to remember those that lost their lives, honor the firefighters and other  first responders who fought to save the Marina Neighborhood, and educate the neighborhood about the importance of disaster preparedness.
