  • Within its small confines, Allyne (pronounced “uh-line”) Park is home to towering redwoods, an expansive lawn, winding pathways, and countless flowering plants. The space is also populated by over 20 species of birds – including warblers, chickadees, robins and hummingbirds. The nesting Cooper’s hawks also always bring excitement in the spring!

This gorgeous little jewel of a park is named for the Allyne Sisters who lived in a large Victorian Mansion on the site starting in the 1880s. Following their passing in the 1960s, the City of San Francisco purchased the 3/4 acre plot and made the green space into the public park that we all enjoy today.

Located in the heart of Cow Hollow, next to the historic Octagon House, Allyne Park hosts many daily visitors. It is the perfect spot to gather with friends and family, to play with dogs and children, or to simply enjoy the natural surroundings.

The Friends of Allyne Park (FOAP) was founded in 2022 in an effort to provide additional support for this beloved and popular urban green space, helping to ensure that the park continues to thrive in the years to come.

The group looks forward to working in close collaboration with the key stakeholders on park maintenance and improvements, and plans for multiple cleaning & greening events in the near future.

Longer term, they hope to work towards larger capital improvements that will sustain the accessibility and beauty of their beloved Allyne Park.

  • Volunteer events will likely happen quarterly, with a wide variety of potential activities including: regular cleanups, path maintenance, weeding, planting, repairing fences, and so much more. The group will also be hosting social and fundraising events.
