Our Work: Community Partners

South Park Improvement Association

Convened in 1983, the South Park Improvement Association has been advocating for South Park ever since, providing invaluable amounts of volunteer time, oversight and fundraising towards the improvement of the park and its playground.

Although it is one of the oldest parks in San Francisco, South Park is now surrounded by a rapidly changing neighborhood that design firms, new residents, and commercial interests now call home.

Convened in 1983, the South Park Improvement Association was established to advocate and raise funds for South Park, and they’ve been doing so ever since. The Association provides volunteer time, oversight, and fundraising efforts in support of the park. They also successfully gained funding from the Community Opportunity Fund and the 2012 Park Bond. Fletcher Studio Landscape Architecture has since worked with the neighborhood on the redesign and conceptual drawings for the park.
