Supervisors Supporting Community Initiated Art and Green Space
SF Parks Alliance Staff / August 31, 2019Art can be seen in unexpected places in the Sunset District – The Public Bench Project in Inner Sunset and Utility Box Art on Ocean Avenue are community inspired projects bringing art to small, everyday objects we see on the street.
With support from then Supervisor London Breed, The Public Bench Project had deployed over 30 colorful benches throughout Inner Sunset. And Supervisor Norman Yee helped bring artists and high school students together to create 10 artistic utility boxes in the Sunset. And Supervisor Katy Tang’s Front Yard Ambassadors Program incentivized Sunset District residents to transform concrete front yards with permeable surfaces and drought-tolerant gardens. Contact your Supervisor with your beautification project and learn more about possible resources to bring your ideas to life.
