Urban Chickens at Garden for the Environment
There is a huge movement to keep small farm animals in backyards across the nation. By keeping chickens or ducks you can increase the health of your garden and produce even more of your own food.
In this workshop, instructors will walk you through the steps to setting up your flock, review different coop designs, and give an overview of chicken husbandry so you can keep your birds healthy. You will even have the opportunity to hug our expert instructors’ very own backyard chickens!
About SF Parks Alliance
The San Francisco Parks Alliance is a nonprofit organization that has been working with the community for nearly 50 years to help encourage our neighbors to get out and make the most of their public spaces. We focus on collaborating with our fellow San Franciscans and various partners around the Bay Area to champion beautification projects, public space initiatives, and engagement through a variety of free weekly and monthly events.
