Heart Your Parks is SF Parks Alliance’s annual spring campaign bringing screen printing pop-ups to a different park for four consecutive Saturdays leading up to Earth Day weekend.
The campaign showcases the love that San Franciscans have for the city’s parks and public spaces through free art giveaways and fundraising to support these spaces.
Each Heart Your Parks event features a screen printed design specific to the park the event takes place in. The designs are made by local artist Orlie K. to celebrate the unique character of iconic San Francisco parks.
Attendees can visit Heart Your Parks events to receive a free print with a recommended donation. SF Parks Alliance members will also have the option to create their own screen prints on provided paper. Those interested in creating their own print can sign up to become an SF Parks Alliance member at the events or become a member online in advance if they’re not already.
Fundraising
SF Parks Alliance aims to raise $80,000 through our 2024 Heart Your Parks campaign, which will ensure that we can continue to build and renovate parks, host free public events, and advocate for parks and public spaces across San Francisco that are welcoming and belong to everyone. All donors who give $50 or more online will also receive a Heart Your Parks sticker featuring one of the four park designs.
Where did Heart Your Parks Come From?
The first Heart Your Parks campaign was launched in 2020 during the height of the pandemic and introduced social distancing hearts to parks across San Francisco. Heart Your Parks returned in 2022 as a large flower heart installation at Alamo Square Park. In 2023, SF Parks Alliance introduced screen print giveaways at Heart Your Parks with an inaugural set of prints for Alamo Square Park, Duboce Park, Golden Gate Park, and Washington Square Park. The 2023 campaign was so successful that we brought the screen prints giveaways back to four different parks in 2024!
All 2024 Heart Your Parks events will feature live jazz music and free beverages provided by Guayaki.
