Hickory Alley

Hickory Alley had long struggled with litter, graffiti, dumping, and safety issues.

SF Parks Alliance partnered with neighbors and local organizations to revitalize and improve the space, resulting in a beautiful mural and pedestrian thoroughfare that connects Hayes Valley and Civic Center Plaza.

This project was initiated by neighbors and local organizers in 2016, also known as the Friends of Hickory Alley. With the help of SF Parks Alliance, the group installed a new mural and lightning in the space to help the alleyway feel safer and more welcoming.
