Our mission is to champion, transform and activate parks and public spaces throughout the city. We are the only 501c3 citywide nonprofit organization dedicated to parks and public space in San Francisco. We believe everyone deserves access to safe and welcoming public spaces, regardless of where you live in the city. But, beyond that, we’re people who love our parks. We’ve seen first hand the difference that community-focused public spaces can make, and we’re passionate about bringing in all of the best resources together to support these projects across the city.
What We Do
We believe that spaces can’t just exist to be successful. They have to be safe, welcoming and activated — ideally with all aspects of the surrounding community through programming.
Our job is to support, improve, and encourage engagement within these parks in order to transform them into pillars for the community. We have found that this combination is really the secret sauce to bettering our public spaces.

We like to think of ourselves as the helping hand, wherever necessary. We support the communities that champion their public spaces. We empower and guide communities about spaces that do not have champions. We partner with city agencies, local businesses, philanthropists and foundations to make this all happen.
