Comerford Street
San Francisco, CA 94131

Comerford Street is a one-block long roadway between the 1400 block of Sanchez Street (Slow Sanchez Street) & the 1500 block of Church Street. It’s registered as an emergency lane and provides access to garages, so the goal of this group is not to stop traffic.

Comerford Greenway intends to clean up alley, plant native plants/remove concrete, and add lighting and murals. The group currently hosts weekly social gatherings and annual block parties!

Once a month, this group gets together on a Saturday morning to work on improving the alley. They clean, they plant, and they gossip. If you’d like to join, please contact ComerfordGreenway@gmail.com for more information. You’re not expected to work, this group is big on socialization and you might have some good ideas for the project!

We love how this group started by bringing together neighbors at weekly social gatherings to get to know one another and build a sense of stewardship over their space.
